Dear Cowern Families & Friends,
Conferences are coming up next week on March 11th & 12th. One of the keys to your child’s success at school is open communication between parents and teachers at conferences and throughout the year. I know that our teachers appreciate your input during conferences. Your child needs you to be an active part of his or her education. If you are unable to meet at your conference time, please call the school and reschedule. It would be wonderful if we had a large block of time for each conference, however we only have a 20 minute time slot per conference. Because of our tight schedule, we ask that you arrive at your conference on time and be respectful of the time limit.
Before you go to your conference, you may want to spend a few minutes talking with your child. Ask them if they have anything in particular they would like you to talk about with their teacher. Let your child know that you will talk will with them after the conference.
It is important at conferences that you get specific suggestions of things that you can do at home. Probably the most important question you can ask is “What can I do at home to help my child be more successful at school?” It’s also important that you stay in touch with your child’s teacher to make sure that your child is making progress.
